Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank celebrates first year with strong growth

In an attempt to transform the State’s industrial ecosystem through sustainable and resource-efficient technologies, the Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch Energy and Water Efficiency programmes for MSMEs in partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).The initiative will be unveiled during the ‘MSME Growth Conclave’ scheduled to be held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Kala Vedika in Vijayawada on May 25.In a statement on Wednesday, Industries Secretary N. Yuvaraj said the programme aligns with the Centre’s RAMP initiative and Andhra Pradesh’s MSME development policy, focusing on energy audits, water efficiency, technology upgradation and sustainable manufacturing across 15 MSME clusters covering over 1,000 enterprises.The Detailed Project Reports will recommend energy-efficient machinery, water recycling systems and process optimisation measures.The State government has also launched 175 MSME Parks, with proposed investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore and employment potential for nearly 21,795 persons. Officials said Andhra Pradesh currently has over 21 lakh MSMEs contributing significantly to industrial growth and employment generation,he added.A review meeting was held by Mr. Yuvaraj with MSME Development Corporation CEO M. Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna said, “The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report for the year 2024 clearly establishes that crime rate is the only scientific and statistically appropriate basis for comparing crime among different states. Against the national crime rate of 252.3, Uttar Pradesh recorded a crime rate of only 180.2.”He stated, this improvement is the result of continuous and well-planned efforts. It proves that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals has moved beyond paperwork and is being implemented on the ground.The DGP said, over the last 9 years, modern police stations, active Anti-Romeo squads, dedicated women help desks at every police station, fast-track courts providing quick justice to weaker sections, and strict action against organised crime have established the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh. He said NCRB data stands testimony to this.The DGP also informed, “In Uttar Pradesh, any person can visit a police station and file a complaint without fear or hesitation. Uttar Pradesh Police remains fully committed to this.”He added, even the smallest complaints received through digital platforms are taken seriously and converted into FIRs wherever required. Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank reported a robust financial performance for 2025–26, in its first year of operations. The bank’s total business reached ₹1,36,337 crore, reflecting a growth of 13.40%. Deposits rose to ₹64,673 crore, an increase of 14.89%, while gross advances stood at ₹71,665 crore, marking a 12.09% rise. The bank posted a net profit of ₹1,836 crore and an operating profit of ₹2,523 crore. Asset quality remained strong, with Gross NPA at 0.91% and Net NPA at zero. The Capital Adequacy Ratio stood at 23.62%, and the Net Interest Margin at 3.72%.The Bank celebrated its first anniversary, since the historic amalgamation of four regional rural banks, at its headquarters in Guntur on Saturday (May 2, 2026).
