Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T.TV. Dhinakaran on Tuesday (May 12, 2026) announced the expulsion of his party’s lone legislator, S. Kamaraj, of Mannargudi constituency, from the organisation for “anti-party activities.”Earlier in the day, Mr. Kamaraj, while speaking in the Assembly to welcome the election of Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar, extended his support to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government.Last Friday (May 8), Mr. Dhinakaran alleged that during TVK founder C. Joseph Vijay’s meeting with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, he submitted a letter of support purportedly from Mr. Kamaraj that was “forged.”He had also claimed that the whereabouts of Mr. Kamaraj were not known at the time, and had represented to the Governor. However, hours later, the legislator had been traced. On Saturday (May 9), Mr. Dhinakaran addressed the media, along with Mr. Kamaraj. Published - May 12, 2026 03:56 pm IST
