The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for five Telangana districts for Sunday (June 7, 2026) | “Conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into parts of Telangana during the next two to three days,” the IMD said.According to IMDs latest bulletin, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanumakonda and Nagarkunrool districts. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all 33 districts.Hyderabad city and its neighbouring areas for the next 24 hours will see a partly cloudy sky. “Light rain or thundershowers at times with heavy spells at a few places accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in parts of the city towards evening or night. Image used for representation Tremors were felt in parts of Kangra, Chamba and adjoining districts of Himachal Pradesh after a 5.0 magnitude earthquake of moderate intensity hit the region on Friday (June 5, 2026) night.The depth of the earthquake, which struck about 40 k.m. from Dharamsala near the Kangra- Chamba border at 10:04 pm, was 5 km, the meteorological office said, adding that the epicentre was located near Dhar Godoi in Kangra.People in Dharamsala and nearby areas ran out of their houses in panic after the tremors were felt, though no loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the state so far, officials said.The Kangra and Chamba districts fall under Seismic Zone 5, a high-damage risk zone.Tremors were also felt in Chandigarh and parts of Punjab and Haryana, reports said.A Chandigarh resident, Baldev Chand, who lives on the second floor of a three-storey building, said he felt a mild tremor at about 10 am when he was preparing to sleep."The tremors lasted only for a few seconds," he said. Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of police on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) carried out searches in several districts of the valley in a case related to terror activities, officials said.The officials said based on recent intelligence inputs, technical analysis and sustained investigation, they had identified eight locations in six districts where searches were conducted in the early hours of Wednesday.The searches were conducted at two places each in Srinagar and Bandipora districts; and one each in Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Baramulla districts.The case registered in 2015 pertains to Pakistan-sponsored terrorist outfits, their sleeper-cell networks and activities related to recruitment, radicalisation and facilitating terrorism in J-K.The officials said the suspects are alleged to be in contact with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers through encrypted communication platforms and are suspected to be involved in dissemination of extremist propaganda and radicalisation activities. File | The guidelines seek to achieve objective of the policy, of primarily relocating polluting industrial units beyond Outer Ring Road and facilitate conversion of the land thus vacated to multi-use zones. Mooted in November 2025, the policy had faced reservations from a few industries bodies as well as the Opposition BRS.The HILTP, for which a G.O. was issued in November 2025, has been formulated to facilitate relocation of polluting industries in 21 industrial parks and standalone units within the Core Urban Region (CURE) of Hyderabad. Under the implementation framework, the government, on the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, has approved payment of an upfront Development Impact Fee (DIF) of 10% and consideration of existing SRO market rates for applicants submitting their applications on or before 30 June 2026.This was announced on Saturday, in a release, after Minister for Industries and IT D. Sridhar Babu launched a dedicated online portal for receiving applications from eligible industrial units seeking to avail benefits under the policy. The portal enables eligible unit holders to submit, monitor and track their applications online, reinforcing the government’s commitment towards transparent, technology-driven, and citizen-centric governance.A dedicated support and grievance redressal mechanism has also been established to assist applicants and departmental officials throughout the application process, according to the release. Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) is the nodal agency for implementation of the policy and according was instructed to come up with operational guidelines.Besides defining the industrial parks and the standalone industrial lands within ORR — which does not include lands allotted to PSUs — the guidelines prescribe Development Impact, documents required to be submitted by the applicant online and the measures TGIIC is required to initiate.Support to shifting unitsAccording to the guidelines, the same benefits/ subsidies will be extended to the units which have opted shift under HILTP to the new location; statutory fees and charges for services like electricity/ water connection paid will be adjusted; units which have obtained approval under HILTP for shifting to a new location will be given priority for allotment of industrial plot at Industrial parks outside the ORR.The units, after obtaining the approval for multi-use conversion of land under HILTP, will be allowed to run the industry/unit in its present location/ park for a maximum of one year. Vivek, he said the government has classified workers into four categories — unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled. The state has also been divided into three zones for determining minimum wages.
