ACB registers disproportionate assets case against HMWSSB General Manager, raids unearth assets worth ₹5.88 crore
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a disproportionate assets case against Saggam Anantha Laxmi Kumar, General Manager (Engineering), Project Division-VIII of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), Red Hills, Hyderabad.According to the ACB, the 58-year-old official acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices and dubious means during his service.Officials conducted searches on Tuesday at the officer’s residence and eight other locations linked to his relatives, friends, benamis and associates.During the searches, the ACB unearthed documents relating to 18 acres of agricultural land in Nizamabad and Sangareddy districts, six open plots, three flats and a house in Hyderabad.Officials also recovered approximately ₹1.10 crore in cash, gold ornaments weighing around 2.1 kilograms and silver articles weighing about 9.2 kilograms from the officer’s residence. In addition, a car and a motorcycle were found during the searches.

The ACB stated that the total value of movable and immovable assets identified so far stands at around ₹5.88 crore, though the market value may be significantly higher than the documented value.Further verification of additional assets is underway and the case remains under investigation.
