Government launching animal-centric breeding to boost dairy farmers’ income, says Collector

Nellore District Collector Himanshu Shukla said that the State government is implementing the “Animal-Centric Breeding Approach” with the aim of increasing the income of dairy farmers and improving productivity of livestock.The Collector, along with Venkatagiri MLA Kurugondla Ramakrishna, participated in an awareness campaign for livestock farmers organised as a part of “Palle Veekshana” programme at Kulluru village of Kaluvoya mandal in SPSR Nellore district on Wednesday.“Through the Animal-Centric Breeding Approach, it will be possible to provide services to the cattle using scientific methods, improve their reproductive efficiency, and increase the milk production,” the Collector said. “Farmers should take advantage of this opportunity and achieve further development in the Animal Husbandry sector,” he added.On the occasion, the Collector and the MLA distributed animal feed to the dairy farmers. They also watched the calf beauty contest and awarded prizes to the winners of the competition.Animal Husbandry Department Joint Director Ramesh Nayak, DDs Somaiah, Nagamani, Srinivasulu, veterinary doctors, and staff participated in the event.
