People have sacrificed for the temple. People like us, Kalyan Singh sacrificed the government, people went to jail, afterwards the temple issue progressed. Some present there are thieves, we will remove them. Either they will run away or we will throw them out,” said Mr. Katiyar, a former MP who represented both the Houses, and a key figure of the Ram Temple agitation.Reacting to the SIT probe, Mr. Yadav said it was “very unfortunate” that officials will investigate priests of the temple. “It is an insult to the Sanatana Dharma that such a prestigious temple has to be probed. Officials will investigate those who uphold our faith. What greater misfortune could there be? It is shameful for every person who believes in Sanatana Dharma, the entire country is watching.”The Congress described the allegations as a “question mark” on faith, accountability and trust, and said the BJP cannot “evade responsibility”. “The alleged misappropriation of devotees’ donations at the Ram Mandir is a question of faith, accountability and trust. When an institution built on the devotion of millions faces such serious allegations, transparency cannot be optional. The BJP, which sought political dividends from the temple, cannot now evade responsibility when questions arise. An independent, credible probe must reveal the truth and fix accountability. Prabhu Ram deserves better than secrecy and silence,” wrote Congress MP Abhishek Singhvi, on X. Shahnawaz Alam, national secretary of the Congress, demanded a high-level investigation and flagged shady real estate dealings. “Some time back, it came to light that powerful people bought land around the temple and made profit from booming real estate prices. But the government didn’t act. The intention from the beginning of those controlling the management has been mala fide. TTD Trust Board Chairman B.R. Naidu and other officials take possession of a 10-acre plot for the construction of a Sri Venkateswara temple at Amerigog village in Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam on Tuesday. Taking a major step towards establishing the first Sri Venkateswara temple in the Northeast, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) formally took possession of a 10-acre parcel of land at Amerigog village in Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam on Tuesday.The Assam government completed the registration process in favour of TTD and handed over the relevant documents to a delegation led by TTD Trust Board Chairman B.R. Naidu.The move follows the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to establish replica temples of Lord Venkateswara across all States and Union Territories. As part of the initiative, Mr. Naidu had met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati in August last year to initiate discussions on the project.“The temple will come up in the picturesque valley between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. In consultation with the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Assam, we will soon finalise plans for laying the foundation stone,” Mr. Naidu said.Mr. Naidu said the proposed Balaji Mandir in the land of Maa Kamakhya would hold immense spiritual significance and provide devotees from the Northeast an opportunity to offer prayers and fulfil their vows without having to travel frequently to Tirupati. A special yoga event is being organised by the management of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple on Monay (June 8), in accordance with State government directives.Temple Executive Officer M Srinivasa Rao said a special stage is being set up at the Gangadhara Mandapam for this purpose. He said all arrangements are being made to conduct the yoga event in the area stretching from the Gangadhara Mandapam to the Nandi Mandapam. Mr. Srinivasa Rao urged locals and pilgrims to participate in this program and gain an understanding of yoga.Meanwhile, the yoga training program organized by the temple management as part of the ‘Yogandhra’ initiative, continued on Sunday (June 07) too. Mr Srinivasa Rao said the training program is scheduled to be held till June 20 in the run up to the International Day of Yoga observed on June 21.He noted that over 600 yoga practitioners participated in and received training during Sunday’s session held at the Chandravathi Kalyana Mandapam. Participants included Devasthanam staff, locals, ‘Shiva Sevaks’ (volunteers), and pilgrims. He added that some ‘Shiva Sevaks’ who had arrived from Maharashtra also took part in the training.The program included the chanting of ‘Omkara’ by all participants, followed by various subtle exercises (Sukshma Vyayama) and performing of several yoga asanas.
