The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has started the third phase of link roads at various locations in the city, taking forward the project first conceptualised more than six years ago.Link roads are small stretches of road development, which would connect two existing major thoroughfares, thus providing alternative stretches for arterial roads in the city, thereby reducing traffic chaos.Slip roads as a go-around of major junctionsThe roads were first planned in 2019 by the Town Planning wing of the GHMC, along with slip roads-- which are laid as a go-around of major junctions where traffic is heavy.
