Heatwave alert in five Telangana districts, heavy rainfall forecast in nine districts on June 22

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert in five Telangana districts and a heavy rainfall forecast in nine districts on Monday (June 22, 2026).According to IMDs latest bulletin, heatwave conditions are very likely to occur at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar and Peddapalli districts.Additionally, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all 33 districts of the state.Hyderabad city and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a generally cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33℃ and 24℃ respectively,” the bulletin said. Published - June 21, 2026 04:22 pm IST
