Guntur police trace three missing boys to New Delhi and reunite with families



The Chebrolu police of Guntur district rescued three missing boys who had travelled to New Delhi after leaving their homes and safely reunited them with their parents on Tuesday (June 23, 2026).According to the police, a complaint was lodged at the Chebrolu Police Station on June 21 by Shaik Aashiya of Vejendla village, stating that her 13-year-old son, Shaik Jameer Ahmed, had gone missing. During the course of the investigation, the police found that two other boys, Rayala Bharat (12) of Suddapalli village and Thupakula Venkata Gopi (15) of Gundavaram village, had also left their homes on June 20.Guntur District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said that special teams were formed comprising Ponnur Rural Circle Inspector, Chebrolu Sub-Inspector and others.Police examined CCTV footage, analysed technical evidence, scrutinised mobile phone call records, traced locations and conducted inquiries in multiple places to track the boys’ movements. Through mobile phone tracing and other technical inputs, investigators established that the boys had travelled to New Delhi.The Chebrolu Police coordinated with police authorities in Delhi and successfully located the boys. They were taken into safe custody and brought back to Guntur district on June 23 before being handed over to their parents.Speaking on the occasion, police officials advised parents to closely monitor their children’s activities and maintain awareness of where they are going and with whom. They also urged the public to immediately inform the nearest police station whenever a child goes missing.SP Vakul Jindal commended the officers and personnel involved in tracing the boys and ensuring their safe return within a short span of time.
