It added that dummy Enumeration forms were also printed in Urdu, for assistance of the general public. The forms are being distributed as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) taken up in the State. Booth Level Officers (BLO) started to visit houses from June 25 to distribute Enumeration Forms (EF). This will continue till July 24.Nearly 60% EFs distributedThere are a total of 3,38,26,448 general electors in the State, as on Tuesday. This includes 1,67,60,643 male electors, 1,70,62,946 female electors and 2,859 transgender persons. Till 2 p.m. on Tuesday (June 30, 2026), 2,02,32,055 EFs were distributed, which is 59.81% of the total electors. Electors in the State who received partially filled forms in Telugu sought for help from others in filling the details. The Telangana High Court on Monday asked the Election Commission of India to consider a petitioner’s request to provide enumeration forms during the SIR of electoral rolls in Urdu in constituencies having 20% or more population conversant in that language.A few Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO) in the GHMC limits said on Wednesday that the forms in English were distributed from the beginning of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the forms in Telugu and Urdu too are available.Fill Enumeration Form onlineThe EFs can be filled online too. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) distribute enumeration forms to residents during a house visit as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. | Even as several electors say they are still waiting to receive enumeration forms and visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), fellow residents in the same localities have taken the initiative to contact BLOs directly and coordinate visits.“There is no point waiting for the BLO. It is better to get the BLO’s contact details from the CEO website and ask when they are likely to visit. We did this for our family. The BLO was in the next lane, so I met him and coordinated. He came the next day and distributed the forms,” said Abdul Qader, a resident of Jubilee Hills in the Khairatabad Assembly constituency.Mr. Qader, who works in the IT sector, said his family WhatsApp group has been flooded with queries, updates and advisories on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, with relatives across constituencies making efforts to contact their respective BLOs.A similar approach has been adopted in other parts of the Khairatabad constituency, where activists, Booth Level Agents and residents have been sharing BLO contact details to facilitate the distribution of forms.“There are around 40 electors in 10 houses here, so it made sense for the forms to be distributed in one visit. One of us contacted the BLO and ensured he visited every house,” said Ahmed Imam, a resident of Banjara Hills. “Now that we have interacted with the BLO, it will also be easier to reach out to him if we have any doubts.”However, residents familiar with the exercise said the overall pace of form distribution remains slow. “The situation is actually better in bastis than in many colonies. BLOs are yet to visit several areas. Many are inadequately trained and not proactive enough. There needs to be continuous monitoring, even by residents, to ensure they visit on time and assist electors, many of whom are still unaware of the process,” said Asif Hussain Sohail, an office-bearer of a residents’ collective in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.Recently, Majlis Bachao Tehreek spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan had stressed that BLOs must visit every elector’s home, as required under the rules, and remain accessible to the public without coming under political influence.Meanwhile, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vasam Venkateswara Reddy and Electoral Registration Officers inspected polling stations in the Karwan and Charminar Assembly constituencies. Shivakumar on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) launched the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka by filling up and submitting his Enumeration Form at his Sadashivanagar residence, while appealing to citizens across the State to participate in the exercise and safeguard their voting rights.Mr. Shivakumar and his wife, Usha Shivakumar, completed the forms in the presence of Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner and district election officials.Later speaking to mediapersons, the Chief Minister said the SIR process had formally begun in the State and urged voters to ensure that their details in the electoral rolls were up to date.He said electors would have to furnish the mobile number that had been previously linked to their voter records. Those wishing to change or update their phone number can do so through election officials, after which the one-time password (OTP) would be sent to the registered number.Update name and photographMr. Shivakumar said the exercise also provided an opportunity for voters to correct their names and update photographs in the electoral rolls.He said Booth Level Agents (BLAs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisory officials had already established WhatsApp groups to assist voters during the process.Stating that the procedure had been simplified for families, the Chief Minister said it would be sufficient if one member of a household signed the forms on behalf of all family members. “One member can fill up and submit the forms for the entire family and they will be accepted,” he said. He added that the State government had made arrangements to facilitate the issuance of residence certificates and other required documents so that eligible citizens were not inconvenienced while completing the verification process.The Chief Minister urged people not to neglect the exercise. “Everyone should safeguard their voting rights. If they fail to do so, they may find it difficult to access government schemes and services in future,” he said.Difficulty in filling formsWhen asked about the concern that some people, particularly the elderly and those unfamiliar with smartphones, might face difficulties using the ECINet application, Mr. Shivakumar admitted that he too had taken assistance while completing the online process.“I am also not familiar with using the app. I took the help of others. Those who are not comfortable with the online process can obtain the form from the Booth Level Officer and complete it offline,” he said.Link to benefitsAsked about the significance of the SIR exercise in Karnataka, the Chief Minister referred to developments in some other States, where, he claimed, certain welfare benefits were being linked to voter status.“Our guarantees are meant for the people of Karnataka. Dinesh The Election Commission has stepped up the digitisation of Enumeration Forms under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka, with district administrations conducting a special drive over the weekend to improve the pace of the exercise.According to the Commission, all Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers carried out a drive on June 27 and 28 through Booth Level Officers (BLOs), resulting in a significant increase in both the distribution and digitisation of Enumeration Forms.The Commission stated distribution of forms increased by 4.63% while digitisation rose by 8.28% during the two-day drive.Campaign this weekend tooA similar special campaign will be organised on July 4 and 5 to accelerate the process across Karnataka. Appealing to voters to extend their cooperation, the Commission urged electors to assist Booth Level Officers in completing the digitisation of Enumeration Forms.‘Book a call with BLO’To make the process more convenient, voters have been advised to use the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ feature available on the ECINet mobile application, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.The facility is also available on the voters.eci.gov.in portal, where electors can seek information on the Special Intensive Revision, and the procedure for filling up the Enumeration Form.The Commission stated that the portal also provides a range of election-related services, including voter registration and correction of electoral roll details.
