Telangana Govt approves recruitment for 6,424 Police dept posts

Telangana Government has issued two separate orders sanctioning large-scale recruitment into the police department, under the administrative control of the Director General of Police (DGP). The total recruitment will be of 6,424 personnel, according to the two GOs. Both recruitment drives will be carried out through direct recruitment by the Telangana State Police Recruitment Board (TPRB).5,000 vacancies in ten categoriesThe first order, G.O.Ms.No.78, issued by the Finance Department on June 27, 2026, sanctioned 5,000 vacancies in ten categories. The order followed a review by the Home Department of different proposals in light of departmental needs, staffing requirements, and financial implications.The annexure of order gives the breakdown of the posts with the largest being that 3,697 Police Constable (Civil) posts, followed by 1,052 Police Constable (AR) posts.
