The Telangana government has decided to constitute a
committee to strengthen digital governance for improving efficiency and service delivery of different departments. The committee would be asked to submit its report in 100 days recommending measures for providing better services and ensuring that welfare schemes reached beneficiaries directly through digital governance. The Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to formulate plans for ushering in full scale digital governance and draft necessary legislation in this direction. He enquired about the digitalisation of data pertaining to contract and outsourcing employees along with regular staff.
Officials were directed to digitise the entire data, including their salaries and bank accounts, to ensure that salaries were paid to these employees on the first day of every month.Action should be initiated against the agencies supplying the contract and outsourcing employees that were not functioning in line with the government’s goals. Strict action should be initiated against the agencies that were not paying salaries promptly to the contract and outsourcing employees even after the release of funds by the State government.
