The warrant has been issued in connection with an investigation pertaining to the Pahalgam terror attack.The order was passed on 8 July by the Special Judge of the NIA Court. This came two days after the NIA filed a supplementary chargesheet against the LeT chief in the Pahalgam terror attack case.Saeed is a designated global terrorist as per the Indian and the US governments. He is also considered one of the chief masterminds of the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai.Details on the chargesheetThe supplementary chargesheet, which was filed before the Jammu NIA special court, charges the 76-year-old terrorist in both his personal capacity and as the chief of LeT as well as its proxy front, The Resistance Force (TRF). Saeed has been charged with multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.As per the order issued by the court, the NIA has informed thay Saeed, who is a resident of Sargodha in Pakistan's Punjab, remains absconding. It said that he has been accused in the Pahalgam terror attack case and has been deliberately evading arrest, as per the PTI report."Arrest and custodial interrogation of the accused (Saeed) are necessary for a fair, complete and effective investigation. As such non-bailable warrant of arrest is issued against him and is forwarded it to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), NIA Jammu, for execution in accordance with law," the order said, as per PTI.Pak refused extradition in 2023Back in 2023, India had sought from Pakistan the extradition of Hafiz Saeed, which was denied by Islamabad citing the lack of such a bilateral treaty between the two nations.Pak leader shows sympathy for slain terroristMaryam Nawaz, the chief minister of the Pakistani province of Punjab, last week described Hizbul Mujahideen's slain terrorist Burhan Wani as a "hero" and said that Islamabad would continue to raise the "Kashmir issue" at all international forums.Wani, an insurgent operating in Jammu and Kashmir, was killed by Indian security forces in the Anantnag district on 8 July, 2016.In a statement issued on his 10th death anniversary, Maryam said Wani remained a "true hero" of the people of Kashmir."Pakistan will continue to raise the voice of the Kashmiri people and advocate their just cause at all international forums," she added.Maryam was also recently seen with the chief of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) - the political offshoot of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa - which is also led by Saeed.With agency inputsStay updated with the latest Trending, India , World and US news. A 10-year-old boy is battling for life in the ICU after a mob allegedly attacked residents of a housing society in Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase-3. Around 10 to 15 people were injured after residents allegedly objected to the eve-teasing of a young woman. Delhi violence: 10-year-old boy lands in ICU after mob attack in Mayur ViharA 10-year-old boy was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a mob allegedly stormed a residential society in east Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase-3 on Sunday evening, leaving around 10 to 15 people injured. Residents claimed the violence erupted after some locals objected to the alleged eve-teasing of a young woman.As reported by News18, eyewitnesses alleged that a group of around 10 to 15 men entered the housing society and assaulted residents, creating panic in the locality. According to residents, the confrontation began when a few people intervened after witnessing the alleged harassment of a woman. They claimed that one of the accused later returned with several associates, following which the group allegedly launched an attack inside the society.Residents told News18 that several people were assaulted during the violence, leaving nearly 10 to 15 individuals injured. Among the injured was a 10-year-old boy, who sustained serious injuries and remains admitted to the ICU. According to the boy's family, he had accompanied his cousin, who is around 27 to 28 years old, to take photographs when they were caught in the violence.Family alleges attackers used stones and wooden sticksThe injured boy's sister alleged that the attackers were armed with stones and wooden sticks. She said, “One of them had a large stone in his hand. He was also carrying a wooden stick. It was quite broad and even had nails in it". She further alleged that her family saw only three people directly carrying out the assault.The sister also claimed that one of the accused is a resident of the Gharoili area in Mayur Vihar Phase-3. Photographs of the suspected attacker have already been handed over to the Delhi Police as part of the investigation.AAP MLA questions law and order; police begin investigationAccording to News18, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar also reacted to the incident, questioning the law-and-order situation in the national capital. He alleged that the violence occurred despite a police outpost being located barely 500 metres from the residential society.The legislator said he visited the locality on Sunday night and met residents who expressed fear and anger over the incident. Kumar further alleged that criminals were operating without fear despite Delhi having what he described as a "four-engine government" and urged Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to ensure that those responsible are arrested without delay.Meanwhile, News18 reported that Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify those involved. Authorities are examining residents' allegations and collecting evidence as part of the probe. No official details regarding arrests had been announced at the time of the report.
