Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the inauguration of the registration portal for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, under which eligible women will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500, in New Delhi, on August 1, 2026. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday (August 1, 2026) launched the online portal for 'Delhi Laxmi Yojna' under which financial aid of ₹2,500 per month will be given to women in the city.“Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, which is a scheme that will provide economic empowerment to the sisters of Delhi. The government has allocated a budget of ₹5,100 crore for this. The portal has started from today, and registration has also begun," Ms. Gupta said, addressing the public."I think almost 500 sisters have successfully filled their forms on this," she added.The Delhi Cabinet, headed by Ms. Gupta, on Tuesday (July 28) passed the scheme under which eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month. The scheme was a key poll promise of the BJP in Assembly polls held last year.According to the scheme guidelines approved by the cabinet, women aged between 21 and 60, whose family income is up to ₹2.50 lakh per annum, will be eligible to apply.Women already receiving benefits under any other financial assistance scheme or pension, taxpayers, government employees, women with more than three living children, families with annual electricity consumption exceeding 2,400 units, will not be eligible for the scheme.Families with any member having a government job, a criminal case, and those owning four-wheelers will also be excluded from the scheme's ambit.Of the total dole, ₹1,500 will be kept in a fixed deposit with a three-year lock-in period, reducing the in-hand sum to ₹1,000. The Tamil Nadu government has issued an order renaming the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme after former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj. The scheme will henceforth be known as the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme.The Breakfast Scheme for students in Classes I to V in government and government-aided schools was launched during the previous DMK regime. After the TVK-led government assumed office, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay directed that the scheme be expanded to cover students in Classes VI to VIII in government and government-aided schools as well.A Government Order to this effect was issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment on July 15, the birth anniversary of Kamaraj, and circulated on Wednesday.At present, the scheme benefits 19,34,230 students studying in Classes I to V in 37,447 government and government-aided schools. The expanded scheme will cover 15,14,274 students studying in Classes VI to VIII in 15,454 government and government-aided schools across the State. This includes 8,787 schools where the scheme is already being implemented for Classes I to V and 6,667 schools that have Classes VI and above.It has been estimated that the expanded scheme will incur an additional expenditure of ₹343.55 crore. The State government has also sanctioned ₹217.63 crore for the current financial year for the expanded component of the scheme.The expanded Breakfast Scheme will be rolled out from September 17, the birth anniversary of social reformer Periyar E.V. The outbound portability of the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Aroygya (MAA) Yojana for medical treatment has benefited about 30,000 patients from Rajasthan, who have received free treatment in other States during the last six months.Over 5,900 claims amounting to ₹17 crore have been submitted by the patients for speciality treatment in States such as Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi. These treatments included heart stent procedures, heart bypass surgery, cancer surgery, chemotherapy, dialysis and Caesarean deliveries.The inter-State portability was activated earlier this year to give beneficiaries under the MAA Yojana access to 16,000 government and 14,000 private hospitals across the country. Premier institutions such as AIIMS Delhi and Bhopal, PGI Chandigarh, Medanta, KGMU Lucknow and U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology, Ahmedabad, were included in the scheme.Principal Medical and Health Secretary Gayatri Rathore said here on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) that the eligible beneficiaries were availing of cashless treatment worth up to ₹25 lakh at the hospitals empanelled under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) in various States.The integration of MAA Yojana with PMJAY has ensured free and cashless treatment for patients beyond the State’s borders. “Every eligible person from Rajasthan can access quality medical treatment even outside the State’s boundaries without any financial burden when the need arises,” Ms. Rathore said.There are 1.36 crore eligible families under the MAA Yojana in the State. The scheme includes 2,179 treatment packages, covering common ailments as well as serious conditions such as cancer, heart disease, kidney disease and organ transplants.
