RPF Pink Patrol-drone team detects marijuana, liquor worth ₹9.40 lakh at Kacheguda Railway Station

The Railway Protection Force’s (RPF) Pink Patrol-Drone team detected ganja worth over ₹9.40 lakh at Kacheguda Railway Station during a surveillance exercise to monitor suspicious activities on Friday.During the operation, the team spotted two unattended backpacks on Platform No. 2 and immediately alerted ground personnel. On inspection, the bags were found to contain 16 packets of dry ganja weighing 18.189 kg, with an estimated value of ₹9,09,450. As no claimant came forward despite extensive inquiries, the contraband was seized following due legal procedure and handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Kacheguda, for further action.In another significant detection on the same day, the Pink Patrol-Drone team, while conducting drone-assisted decoy surveillance, identified an unclaimed carton box on Platform No. 2. After confirming that no passenger claimed ownership, officials opened the box and found eight premium liquor bottles of 750 ml each belonging to brands such as Paul John, Amrut, Ballantine’s and Black Dog.The liquor bottles, valued at approximately ₹31,160, were subsequently handed over to the Prohibition and Excise Department for further proceedings. The combined value of the seized contraband and liquor exceeded ₹9.40 lakh, according to a press release issued by Debashmita C.
