Sakambari Utsavams conclude with Maha Poornahuti at Kanaka Durga temple
5 lakh devotees.On the concluding day, devotees had darshan of Goddess Sri Kanaka Durga in the Sakambari Devi avatar. The deity was adorned with an array of fruits, leafy greens, vegetables and dry fruits, transforming the sanctum and temple premises into a vibrant display of devotion.The concluding rituals, including Maha Poornahuti, Kalasodvasana, Marjanam and Prokshanam, were performed under the guidance of temple Sthanacharya V. Shivaprasad Sharma, members of the Vedic Committee, Vedic scholars and temple priests.As part of the celebrations, the temple distributed Kadambam prasadam, prepared using vegetables offered during the festival, free of cost to devotees. A large number of pilgrims also took part in the traditional Giri Pradakshina around the Indrakeeladri hill.Temple Trust Board Chairman Borra Radhakrishna and Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik said around 45 tonnes of vegetables, fruits, leafy greens and dry fruits, donated by farmers and devotees, were used to decorate the sanctum, sub-shrines and temple premises during the festival.They said special prayers were offered for timely rainfall, a bountiful harvest, the well-being of farmers, and peace and prosperity in the State and the country. The festival symbolises gratitude to nature and invokes the blessings of Goddess Sakambari, who is revered as the provider of food and nourishment, they added.Mr. Naik said around 2.5 lakh devotees visited the temple during the three-day festival.
