Over 30 students fall ill after having breakfast at Kalaburagi residential school; two shifted to GIMS
The condition of two students was said to be serious.According to preliminary information, the students complained of stomach pain, vomiting and other symptoms of discomfort shortly after eating the food. They were initially provided first-aid at a local healthcare facility before being shifted to the Afzalpur taluk hospital.Two students, identified as Basavaraj and Karthik, whose condition was reported to be serious, were shifted to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Kalaburagi.Officials suspect that the students may have fallen ill after consuming avalakki (beaten rice). However, the exact cause of the incident is yet to be established.Meanwhile, several other students are shifted to Kalaburagi for further medical treatment. At least six ambulances have been deployed to shift the affected students.The condition of the remaining students was being closely observed, while authorities are awaiting medical reports to determine the cause of the illness.
