Minister distributes pension orders to former sportspersons, appointment orders to coaches

Minister for Public Works and Sports Development Aadhav Arjuna on Thursday distributed pension sanction orders to 13 economically weaker former sportspersons, family pension orders to three family members of former sportspersons, and appointment orders to six coaches at the Secretariat in Chennai.

He handed over cheques towards pension arrears amounting to ₹14.13 lakh under the pension scheme for sportspersons implemented through the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT). Under the scheme, a monthly pension of ₹6,000 is provided to economically weaker former sportspersons.During the event, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Secretary Sandeep Nanduri and SDAT Member-Secretary J.
