'The End of Oak Street: Could JJ Abrams' new 'Twilight Zone meets Jurassic Park' movie be the sleeper hit of the summer?
My prediction for "Masters of the Universe" as a summertime sleeper hit did not come to pass, though it was a totally enjoyable nostalgic romp, if not about 20 minutes or so too long.Recent teasers and trailers starring Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway and their suburban family have them sprinting for their lives after a strange cosmic event whisks their placid American neighborhood seemingly back to prehistoric times when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Think "The Twilight Zone" meets "Jurassic Park" with a dash of "A Quiet Place" and you’ll be pretty close to the wild narrative that will unfold when the "running and screaming" begins. This all seems like the perfect recipe for a fun cocktail of primeval creatures rampaging across driveways and lawns while residents fight back with guns and garden tools. "I think our house, our neighborhood, our whole street, has moved," Hathaway's Denise Platt explains to her children in the first teaser that dropped in March and racked up a hefty 30 million views.
