Former Indian seamer Karsan Ghavri suggested that Bumrah should consider taking a one-year break from cricket if needed, to achieve complete fitness before returning to the side. Ghavri also said that the numerous ongoing tournaments make managing his workload difficult.“Bumrah should take a break for five to six months or even a year, and get back to 100 per cent fitness. The issue is that he goes into tournaments even if he’s half-fit and then, due to workload management, halfway through, there’s a breakdown. This is unnecessary. Only if he can manage his workload throughout a tournament should he be included in the team,” Gharvi said to the Mid-day. “Shami and Bhuvi have been playing consistently in the IPL without injuries and should return to the national set-up. Selectors should consider them. All fast bowlers face niggles or injuries, but Bumrah has been on and off for the last two-three years. He has hardly played an entire series. That’s not a good sign for him or for the country,” he added. Another former pacer Raju Kulkarni said Bumrah should consider only playing one format going forward and that should be Test cricket. “I don’t think Bumrah can sustain playing all formats. The team management must consider playing him only in Tests as that’s a critical format. Though he may want to play IPL, T20Is and ODIs too, it’s not viable. For this reason, it will be great if Mohammed Siraj can get the support of senior pacers like Shami and Bhuvi. Bhuvi should be used in T20Is because he’s done brilliantly in the IPL. And you can rotate Shami and Siraj in Tests. This will reduce the pressure on Bumrah,” said Kulkarni

Just before the finish line, Akanksha Chamola and Varun Yadav, popularly known as Laila, were eliminated from the reality show. Their exit confirmed Ram Kapoor, Shilpa Shinde, Shreya Kalra, Shivangi Joshi and Yogesh Rawat as the top five finalists. Akanksha Chamola evicted from Lock Upp In the latest episode, the contestants failed a task, prompting jailers Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh to introduce a divide-and-rule twist. The top six contestants were divided into two groups — the deserving and the undeserving. While the deserving trio was given the power to eliminate one contestant, the undeserving contestants were asked to choose one player who would advance directly to the finale.The three contestants deemed deserving — Yogesh Rawat, Varun Yadav and Shreya Kalra — were then given the power to eliminate one contestant from the undeserving group comprising Ram Kapoor, Shilpa Shinde and Akanksha Chamola. They unanimously chose Akanksha, ending her journey on the show. Akanksha’s eviction turned emotional as she struggled to hide her disappointment. She was particularly hurt after learning that Ram Kapoor and Varun Yadav considered her among the least deserving contestants in the house. Akanksha’s stint on Lock Upp was among the most emotionally charged of the season. From revealing her divorce from Gaurav Khanna to opening up about being bisexual, she candidly shared some of the most personal chapters of her life. Following her eviction, Ram, Shilpa and Akanksha were asked to select one contestant from the deserving trio to advance directly to the finale. In a unanimous decision, they chose Shreya Kalra, making her the second finalist after Shivangi Joshi. Shivangi Joshi and Shreya Kalra, the two confirmed finalists, were given a task to decide the remaining three finalists. They selected Ram Kapoor, Shilpa Shinde and Yogesh Rawat, bringing Varun’s journey to an end. With that, Ram Kapoor, Shilpa Shinde and Yogesh Rawat joined Shreya Kalra and Shivangi Joshi as the top five finalists. Shivangi had become the season’s first finalist in the previous episode after Harshad Chopda gave up his own chance at securing a spot in the finale to save her. The winner of Lock Upp Sach Ya Sazaa will take home Rs 1 crore. In the recently concluded white-ball series against England, although the left-arm wrist spinner was in the squad, he did not play any games. India’s next assignment will be against Sri Lanka, where the conditions do offer something to Kuldeep. Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta urges the Indian team to pick Kuldeep in the starting XI. “Kuldeep Yadav has to be in the playing XI, has to be. I was expecting him to be in the playing XI for that third ODI against England at Lord’s. Not only me, but a lot of the others were expecting him to be seen. Unfortunately, those making the team did not see him, that is a different issue,” Dasgupta said on his YouTube channel.Deep Dasgupta also suggested India keep their options open regarding fielding spinners in their side. He said the team should go with at least three or more spinners. “I think it is a good squad, based on the conditions there are more spinners than seamers. So, there is an opportunity to play with even four spinners, because it has happened it in the past as well, where both Sri Lanka and their opposition have walked out with four spinners. So, I think it was important to have that extra spin bowling option in the squad,” Dasgupta said. Washington Sundar, who has become a regular all-rounder in the Test matches with his off-breaks and batting, is out of the series due to an injury and veteran Ranji cricketer Sarvesh Jain has been called upon in his place. “I think the squad was along expected lines, to be fair. Ideally, Washington Sundar would have been the first-choice off-spinner, but he is not there because of injury. I can’t think of any name that should have been in the squad, but is not there,” he concluded.
