Five killed in car-truck collision in Assam's Sonitpur

Five people were killed in a car-truck collision in Assam's Sonitpur district on Saturday (September 12, 2026), police said. "Five people died in the accident. All the deceased were occupants of the car," he said. The deceased were identified as Har Gobinda Hajoari, Nayan Swargiary, Pappu Bora, Pranjal Bania and Sanjay Mech, all residents of Ghoramari Batabari area in the district, the officer said. The truck driver fled the spot after the accident, he added.
