Telangana govt. urged to organise Pravasi Bathukamma in Dubai

NRI Advisory Committee chairman and former Ambassador B. M. Vinod Kumar has urged the Telangana government to organise Pravasi Bathukamma celebrations in Dubai under the aegis of the Department of Culture. In separate letters to Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Telangana Cultural Sarathi chairperson G. V. Vennela Gaddar, he requested them to facilitate the celebrations as an official cultural event of the Telangana government. Mr. Vinod Kumar said the Pravasi Bathukamma festivities are scheduled to be held in Dubai on October 17. Nangi Devender Reddy and Kottala Satyam Naragoud, members of the Telangana Government’s NRI Advisory Committee, and Dubai-based social worker Sutari Satyanarayana will coordinate the event, he said. He said the celebrations would provide an opportunity for the Telugu diaspora in the UAE to showcase and preserve Telangana’s cultural traditions and maintain their connection with their homeland.
