Four booked for attempt to murder after setting ablaze man in Keralam

The victim identified as Arun Prakash, a resident of Kakkad in Piravom, who sustained serious burns was rushed to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital. The accused have been identified as Jishnu, Chandanu, Salbarin, and another identifiable person, all residents of Piravom. The Piravom police have taken into custody Chandanu, while Jishnu who sustained burns during the alleged assault remains hospitalised. The other two are under surveillance, said the police. The accused have been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 296 (b) (obscene acts and songs), 351 (criminal intimidation), 109 (attempt to murder), 124 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and 3(5) (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention).
