Mamata, Ritabrata Trinamool factions allotted new party names, symbols by ECI

File. ’Meanwhile, the Ritabrata Banerjee-led faction has been allotted the name ‘Democratic Trinamool Congress’ with the ‘envelope’ symbol. On Thursday (September 17, 2026), the ECI had barred both factions from using the party symbol and name in the coming Assembly bypolls in Nandigram and Rejinagar in West Bengal scheduled on October 6. As per the ECI directive both the factions had sent alternative names and symbols to the Commission.
